My name is Simon Bird and I hope you enjoy reading the stories on this website. I am particularly interested in the places and the lives of the people in my tree. They include the wealthy and the poor; those living in manor houses and in the slums of London; the soldier and the farmer; the English aristocracy and the Scottish highlanders.

I was adopted at birth and for 50 years thought I was the quintessential Englishman. Imagine the suprise to find you are 75% Scottish with a smattering of Irish thrown in. I hope you enjoy looking through my website to find out about my 4 parents, 8 grandparents, 16 great grandparents and all their siblings !
